Money And Our Root Chakra

Part #2 of the free course "Chakra Info Series"

Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the “gotta have it” scale ~ Zig Ziglar

We are currently living in a time where we all need some form of money to be able to pay for the roof over our heads and the cost of living in general.  Money can be seen as a stress to many people and 'lack of money' can be a mindset that has been passed on from parent to child or from community to community.

When you are dealing with money problems, it helps to bring awareness to the feelings that you have around money because the FEELINGS that you have about money, is an energy, and energy is the thing that can either bring money IN to our experience, or keep it away!  Awareness is key.

When we focus on not being ale to afford certain things and bills that just keep on coming, we are investing a lot of our own personal energy into the "lack of abundance". Energy is a VERY real thing and everything is made up of energy so when we put our thoughts and feelings toward poorness, that is were our energy is flowing.

You see, energy flows where attention goes. It always has and it always will. The key is to be able to CHANGE our focus and put our energy on abundance instead of the lack of it. When we are able to do this, we will be consciously contributing to the growth of the money that we see in our lives.

The root chakra is not just about money however! Lower body pain can be a BIG player in a blocked root chakra. Let's take a closer look at the root chakra.

The root chakra, or base chakra as it is also known, is located at the base of the spine

It relates to security and survival - eg: money, job, shelter - our most basic survival needs, our sense of belonging and our connection to Earth (Grounding)

When the root chakra is balanced, we can feel secure in our jobs, the roof over our heads, finances, basic needs are met and we are self- confident in many things that we do

Imbalances can be caused by experiencing some kind of trauma, abuse or abandonment, child hood or societal conditioning and not being able to learn and grow from it, therefore, seeing the world from a fear based and worrisome point of view.

Keeping in mind that everything is energy, so when we 'learn' from past experiences that we could be 'holding on to', and lets face it, some past experiences can feel very 'draining' or very 'heavy' - and when we hold on to this heaviness, it causes imbalances in our chakra energy. However, when we learn from past experiences and acknowledge them for the growth that they really can bring, then we tend to 'let go' of that heavy energy which allows our chakras to come back in to balance yet again.

When our root chakra is blocked we can find ourselves worrying about finances, jobs and our living situation, have a low self-esteem and often find it difficult living in this reality. Our physical body could be experiencing some form of pain anywhere from our hips down to our feet.

Our root chakra distributes energy to the external basic survival needs in our life - such as money - as well as the lower part of our physical body. Another way to look at this is that when we have a blocked root chakra, we can also have internal energy blockages anywhere from our hips downwards in our physical body which we can feel as 'pain'. This includes the colon area as well. Also, there could be external energy blockages in the flow of finances, living and work. These are our most basic survival needs in this day and age.

Root chakra blockages could cause high stress with lower body pains or dis-eases found in the hips, legs, knees and feet. From the external viewpoint, root chakra blockages could cause a seemingly unending supply of bills to be paid and debt that just can't be shaken, poor working environment and unstable living arrangements or conditions.

The root chakra is associated with the adrenal glands. Each person has two adrenal glands, one sits on top of each kidney. Adrenal glands produce hormones which act as ‘chemical messengers’. These hormones travel in the bloodstream and act on various body tissues to enable them to function correctly and helps with our fight or flight responses

The root chakra governs the lower spine, kidneys and lymphatic system. The lymphatic system makes and moves lymph (clear fluid containing white blood cells) from tissues to the bloodstream.
